The Boss reigns (rains)
The Superbowl is in town!!! I don’t care much for the teams that are playing but the halftime show has me hooked! Bruce Springsteen and every member of the E Street Band is on stage! So here’s the thing… I have been a volunteer for the last week in rehearsal to be on the field for the halftime show. My husband and I showed up on Sunday for a six hour rehearsal and it was sunny and hot. We needed sunscreen. The next run through was on Thursday. As luck would have it, it rained (poured) from the moment we checked in at 2pm until they released us early at 8:30pm. You might wonder why this is important?
I have been training dental teams for over 22 years. I am a big believer in rehearsal. Dentists and team members wonder why this is important. In the pouring rain, Bruce Springsteen and his entire band performed twice through their entire 12 minute set. They played as if it wasn’t raining. There were 2000 people rehearsing in rain ponchos (thank God for the invention of rain ponchos) but the band played in its entirety as if it were not raining. I will never forget it.
So if you are reading this, what makes you think you can perform on a daily basis at the top of your game without practice? You want a coach who is going to put you through your paces. Call me. I promise you that I will make your rehearsal worthwhile.
